Sleep Haiku

Too twitchy to sleep
Too exhausted to get up
Need a solution

Dizzy Days

Lying in my bed
Can’t get much sleep
I’m bobbing on an ocean
500 feet deep

Get outta my bed
Fall over my feet
Ain’t got no balance
Life ain’t so sweet
Ain’t got no balance
Life ain’t so sweet

Objects are moving
No way that they should
I’d sure change this stuff
If only I could

Get lost in the dark
Things all out of place
No way to get round
Find my way in this place

TV makes me dizzy,
Light blinds my thoughts,
Cars make me dizzy
Sounds dull my brain

The ground is bouncing
It won’t take my weight
I’ve lost who I am
How long must I wait?

Get outta my bed
Fall over my feet
Ain’t got no balance
Life ain’t so sweet
Ain’t got no balance
Life ain’t so sweet

Reading was my passion
Words my escape
Now all move around
Up and down on the page

Strictly’s impossible
The lights are a blur
Dancing and twirling
Can’t watch it no more

My world is spinning
My ears are ringing
My thoughts are a whirl
Or not there at all
My thoughts are a whirl
Or not there at all.

I’ve got the No Balance, Dizzy, Vestibular Blues!!

Reposting this as things are a bit tough at the moment, and if I can help anyone at all, that would be great.

Help and information about inner ear and vestibular problems, which the above symptoms relate to in my case:

http://vestibular.org/

@vestibularveda

New VEDA fact sheet available    https://vestibular.org/sites/default/files/page_files/Documents/1-page-fliers/Cognitive%20Aspects.pdf

http://www.labyrinthitis.org.uk/

The above 2 sites saved me. Additional great help:

For diagnosis, your GP can refer you to your local NHS Balance Clinic, or the superb NHS service at UCLH

Crushed

Crushed
By her too-high
Hopes again
She wasn’t aiming
For the skies
Or the stars
Or the moon
At the top
Of the trees
Or the vertiginous
High notes
Of a tune
Just for a sprinkle
More energy
A whisper less sleep
To help her spirits
Climb up
From the deep
